Somewhere between the Pandemic and the strike in Hollywood and after the job shutdowns, I worked at Whole Foods. There was no way another day could go by without income. If you've tried to find employment these days then you know. At least 60 resumes went out monthly. Whole Foods came in for the win. 

My department was beauty and supplements, and I truly enjoyed learning about all the products. So, I used my employee discount and finally started tackling some of my own health and beauty struggles while there. 

Keeping things simple and affordable is important to me. Here are some of my favorite products:

Starting from the top, I recommend Cetaphil for basic facewash and moisturizer. Every dermatologist recommends this product. If I'm feeling a little dry, Honey Girl Organic Face & Eye Cream is one of the best things I've ever put on my face! It's insanely rich and feels so good on your skin. 

If you're looking for energy, try Himalayan Shilajit Resin. This is what I used when I decided to quit caffeine. Just a little bit of resin in hot water, like tea in the morning, will make you more alert and focused. I highly recommend it.

Himalayan Shilajit resin is a powerful natural substance rich in fulvic acid, minerals, and antioxidants, and it is known for its rejuvenating and adaptogenic properties. Traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine, it helps boost energy levels, enhance cognitive function, and support overall vitality. High in antioxidants, supports cardiovascular health, weight loss, diabetes, it's an anti-inflamatory and SO MUCH MORE! 

Flax Oil is a powerhouse of omega-3 fatty acids known for supporting heart health, reducing inflammation, and promoting glowing skin. Its mild, nutty flavor makes it a great addition to dressings and drizzled over roasted vegetables. My favorite way to use flax oil is in a simple, nutrient-packed salad dressing—just mix it with fresh lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and cracked black pepper. It creates a light, refreshing dressing that enhances any salad while delivering essential nutrients.

Goji Berry Powder is packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that support overall health and wellness. Rich in vitamin C, beta-carotene, and iron, it helps boost the immune system, improve skin health, and enhance energy levels. Its high antioxidant content may protect against oxidative stress and support eye health, while its adaptogenic properties can aid in reducing stress and promoting a sense of well-being. Easily added to smoothies, teas, baked goods, and cereal milk, goji berry powder is a convenient and nutrient-dense superfood.

For my ladies, 40+ I see you and I understand! The supplements that support menopause symptoms all work great. Don't underestimate the power of Rasberry Tea, it actually worked in helping me stop hot flashes. Raspberry tea is a natural remedy that may help ease menopause symptoms due to its rich supply of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. It is particularly known for its high content of fragarine, a plant compound that helps tone and relax the uterine muscles, which can relieve cramps and hormonal fluctuations. The next product is a hidden gem in the supplements section: 5-HTP. Anytime I'm in a rut and need a mood lift, this is my go-to. If you have a form of depression and you're taking meds, this isn't for you. From what I understand, you'll end up having a Sertonin Dump. This works for hangovers, too!
